Make money from your lifes challenges: have a story, build the story and be a good story teller
At the age of 12, living in the North-West region of Cameroon, gender inequality was evident. My uncle had a PhD and my Mother, his sister was illiterate. Seeing the impact gender discrimination had on my family led me to ‘have a story’. I built the story, and I became a good story teller. This story gave birth to the creation of the Anna Nabuh Foundation for girl’s empowerment.
This same story has been presented for international competition and today this story has been awarded a cash price as 2nd best story out of several writers from 33 countries who submitted their entries. When I was invited at the ‘Shirlma show’ panel discussion, I was asked: ❞𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐲 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐬𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐝𝐞𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐬❓❞. 𝐎𝐧𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐨𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐈 𝐠𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐭𝐨; ❞𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐚 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲, 𝐛𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐛𝐞 𝐚 𝐠𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐫❞. Then luck may follow somewhere. Today is the case with this competition.
Thanks to UNICAF for choosing my story worth sharing to the world. Kudos to Al Zahraa Adel Mohamed Helal of Egypt and Maharaj Verosha of South Africa as we represented our countries with our stories.
I am a firm believer, that if we choose to be positive in the challenges that comes our way, it will end up as blessings to us and others.
